ABOUT FUND MY FUTURE

With support from the Allegheny County Executive, the Mayor of Pittsburgh, and other local elected officials, Fund My Future began serving families in Allegheny County in 2017, helping them save for college and other post-secondary goals. Following the establishment of a partnership with the PA State Treasurer in 2020, Fund My Future is now available to all families in Pennsylvania as they save for college and other post-secondary goals.

To participate, any adult over 18 residing in Allegheny County can enroll. In order to be eligible for various raffle prizes, you must make a deposit into a new or existing children’s savings account at a bank, credit union, or 529 plan. One $1,000 prize and 29 $50 prizes are up for grabs every month.

Neighborhood Allies

In April 2021, Fund My Future PGH moved from Propel Schools to Neighborhood Allies, where the program joins other Economic Empowerment Initiatives, the Financial Empowerment Center and Bank On Allegheny County. Together, these initiatives provide opportunities for individuals and families in the Pittsburgh area to increase their knowledge, hope, skills, and assets.

Our Continued Commitment Towards Racial Equality & Social Equity

Since the deaths of George Floyd, Javier Ambler II, Manuel Ellis and Eric Garner, the words, “I can’t breathe,” now have added meaning. Not only are black and brown people disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are also battling another deadly public health crisis called racism.

We at Fund My Future PGH are moved to pursue our work with renewed energy by the social upheaval that has resulted from these senseless killings.

At Fund My Future PGH, we want our families and partners to know that we are committed to working with allies to combat the injustices of unfair treatment and to ultimately eliminate systemic racism. We are more focused than ever to fulfill our mission to help families build individual wealth and to provide resources that uplift and empower them.
