WANTS vs. NEEDS – Helping your children to understand the difference between a want and a need can make a world of difference. Anything outside of the basics (food, clothing, and shelter) is a want and encourage them to save for those “wanted” items.
Shavon Beasley, one of four $1,250 Grand Prize winners, and her six-year-old son, Sean.
Shavon has been consistently depositing into Sean’s account for nearly two years. In addition, she regularly talks with him about college and saving for the things he wants. When asked why families should join Fund My Future, Shavon said, “The program is a fun way to save and teaches everyone in the family how easy it is to save. No matter how small the amount, saving helps!”
If you have not already done so, be sure to establish a bank account and make a deposit to get your child on the path to saving. Don’t miss your chance to win from the $2500 prize pool!!!
