$1 Deposit = $1000 Winner

Shortly after Janette’s daughter was born, she received a $100 gift from her grandpa, and used it as an initial deposit in a new savings account for her daughter. She didn’t make any more deposits until receiving a mailer in November 2020 from the Pennsylvania Treasury about their Keystone Scholars program and Fund My Future. She did her research and decided to join. Since a $1 minimum deposit is required to be eligible to win each month, she decided to make a single $1 deposit into the new account she had recently opened.
On December 1st she received an email from Fund My Future that read “Congratulations, You Are A Winner.” It stopped her in her tracks; she wasn’t sure if it was real. However, when she received the phone call from Ms. Corinealdi congratulating her on her win and reminding her to complete the survey, she was convinced.
She thought back on how she had opened the account a few months ago and was overjoyed to know that she made the choice to make the $1 deposit which in-turn made her a $1000 winner. Thinking back, she was grateful she received the mailer and took the time to join Fund My Future and take the pledge, never thinking that she would be a $1000 winner.
Three-Part Saving Series
Community partners are taking advantage of the Fund My Future 3 Part Series. Attending families receive valuable savings information, along with a certificate of completion. Community partners also have access to engaging information that allows families the opportunity to meet on three separate occasions to hear from members of the PA Treasury staff and various banks and credit unions.
